A fire broke out at a computer center on Chintamoni Dey Road in Howrah, causing panic in the area. The fire started in the lower section of a multi-story market, generating thick smoke and trapping several residents in their flats. Local shopkeepers and bystanders immediately informed authorities. The densely populated commercial area saw a rapid evacuation effort as the fire spread.
Two fire tenders reached the location and began operations to control the flames. Firefighters and local residents worked together to rescue people from the building. Heavy smoke made the evacuation challenging. The exact cause of the fire has not been confirmed, but preliminary assessments suggest an electrical short circuit.
